Common Issues Where Cosmetic Dentistry Can Help

Cosmetic dentistry offers solutions for many types of dental imperfections and enhances the overall aesthetics of your smile. At The Exchange Dental Group, our dentists are skilled in treating a wide range of cosmetic issues, including:

  • Tooth discoloration: Whether caused by aging, lifestyle habits, or certain medications, cosmetic dentistry provides teeth whitening treatments that can restore the brightness and whiteness of your smile, giving you a more youthful and vibrant appearance.
  • Misaligned teeth: Crooked, overlapping, or unevenly spaced teeth can be corrected through orthodontic treatments such as braces or clear aligners.
  • Chipped, cracked, or broken teeth: Dental bonding or porcelain veneers can effectively restore teeth that have been chipped, cracked, or broken, improving their appearance and providing strength and protection.
  • Gaps between teeth: Gaps or spaces between teeth can be addressed through cosmetic dentistry procedures like dental bonding, porcelain veneers for teeth, or orthodontic treatments, helping to achieve a more balanced and harmonious smile.
  • Uneven gumline: Gum contouring or gum reshaping procedures can be performed to correct an uneven gum line, creating a more balanced and symmetrical appearance of the teeth.
  • Missing teeth: Cosmetic dentistry offers various options for replacing missing teeth, including dental implants, bridges, or dentures, which not only improve the appearance of your smile but also restore functionality and prevent further dental issues.
  • Irregular Tooth Shapes: Irregularly shaped teeth, such as those that are too long, too short, or have unusual contours, can be transformed using techniques like dental contouring, crown lengthening, or porcelain veneers, resulting in a more uniform and aesthetically pleasing smile.

3M CLARITY & INVISALIGN CLEAR ALIGNERS

If the idea of brackets and wires is stopping you from getting orthodontic treatment, talk to us about 3M Clarity and Invisalign aligners, custom-made removable trays that can correct a variety of crowding and alignment issues and even some bite discrepancies. Patients wear these trays around the clock except when eating or brushing and flossing their teeth, and they move through a series of trays as their teeth shift. In addition, clear aligners can also be used to treat bite discrepancies in some cases.

DENTAL VENEERS

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made coverings that are bonded to the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance and are made to look like natural teeth. They’re often made of porcelain and are used to correct a wide variety of tooth imperfections such as stained, chipped, uneven, discolored, small or broken teeth.

SMILE MAKEOVER

If your teeth or those of someone you love have accumulated a lot of wear and tear, a smile makeover with Dr. Todd Goldstein may be the solution. A Smile Makeover refers to the process of using multiple cosmetic dental treatments to create a beautiful, healthy smile. Each Smile Makeover will vary since each individual smile is unique. Dr. Goldstein designs a Smile Makeover treatment plan to fit each individual’s needs so that he can create an even, bright, symmetrical smile. His treatment plan may include: professional teeth whitening, veneers, Invisalign, crowns, implants, crown lengthening, or a combination of treatments.

SMILE TEST DRIVE

Smile Test Drive is a 30-minute procedure performed by Dr. Goldstein and is performed on patients interested in receiving a Smile Makeover. It involves the use of temporary dental composite material which is placed on top of the patient’s teeth and shaped so the patient can preview their new smile before starting cosmetic dental work. Smile Test Drive does no damage to the natural tooth structure and is easily removed.

Before and After of teeth whitening

ZOOM! TEETH WHITENING

ZOOM! In-Office Teeth Whitening is a long-lasting whitening method that takes just over an hour with results that can last up to three years! During your visit, the clinician will cover your lips and gums and then apply hydrogen peroxide whitening gel to your teeth. A special light will activate the gel while maintaining the structure of the teeth. While the results vary from one person to the next, the average improvement is eight shades lighter, and we help maintain your new smile with at-home touch-ups using customized trays.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Considered the gold standard in tooth replacement, dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and roots. Dental Implants are made of a small, titanium, screw-like post and capped with a tooth-top or crown. The implant screw is placed in our office by our oral surgeon or our periodontist. After 3-6 months of healing, the implant crown can be placed by your general dentist. Dental implants look natural, are durable and comfortable, and require little upkeep once they’re in place.

SMILE SHAPE

Using advanced dental technology and techniques, Dr. Goldstein can reshape or polish your natural teeth. This will help remove some surface-level wear and tear, and give your teeth a more uniform look to refresh your smile.

TMJ BOTOX® THERAPY

BOTOX® (Botulinum Toxin) is used as an alternative treatment for TMJ, a disorder causing jaw tension, pain, and headaches for many patients. It is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure that works by temporarily weakening the masseter muscle. By injecting BOTOX® into this muscle, the muscle can relax, relieving jaw tension and often eliminating headaches caused by teeth grinding and lockjaw. Our General & Cosmetic Dentist, Dr. Zibuts, can assess your jaw and develop a treatment plan once TMJ has been diagnosed. BOTOX® is also used cosmetically to reduce facial wrinkles and fine lines for a more youthful appearance.
